The SAA is organizing a summer seminar for beginners in arbitration. Participants will get a practical overview for beginners on the practice of international arbitration. Renowned practitioners in this field will share their insight and experience. The Seminar is not merely academic, but focuses – in the known tradition of the SAA – on a practical approach.

The Swiss Arbitration Academy is pleased to offer discounts for the SAA Seminar to all members of the Swiss Arbitration Association.
By providing proof of your ASA membership, you will be entitled to attend the SAA Seminar for CHF 375 only. If you are an ASA member and also a student, intern or non-admitted jurist, you are welcome to attend the SAA Seminar for a participation fee of CHF 325.

The program promises to be of great interest with a key note by Hilary Heilbron QC on The Impact of Cultural and National Differences on Recognised Norms in International Arbitration and a discussion of several new developments including theimpact on international arbitration of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ICCA-ASIL web based damages analysis tool, the recently approved Convention on the Enforcement of Mediated Settlement Agreements and the enforceability of consent awards as well as a discussion of the latest in the public policy exception and the New York Convention on its 60th anniversary and corruption and illegality in international arbitration.
